Attorney Christopher L. Byrd
Christopher L. Byrd was born in New Albany and raised in Corydon, IN. Chris is licensed to practice law in Indiana and Kentucky. He specializes in business law, estate planning, probate, real estate and governmental law. He has served as the Harrison County Attorney since 2013 and the Town of Corydon Attorney since 2011. In addition, he serves as the attorney for the Harrison County Regional Sewer District and the Harrison County Solid Waste District. Chris also serves on the Board of Directors of First Harrison Bank.
Chris graduated from Indiana University – Bloomington with a BS in Accounting from the Kelley School of Business in 1991. While no longer a practicing CPA, he continues to maintain his CPA license in the State of Virginia. Chris worked for the public accounting firm of Price Waterhouse in their Los Angeles office upon graduation and later worked as Controller for Empower America in Washington, DC and then in Government Relations for Eli Lilly and Company. He obtained his JD (2002) from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis while working in Indianapolis for Eli Lilly. He also holds a Masters in Public Affairs (2002) from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
Chris returned to his hometown of Corydon in 2004 and began practicing with Harold Dillman Attorneys, which later became the firm of Dillman Chastain Byrd, LLC. Chris joined CLLB in January 2022.
Chris is very invested in his hometown of Corydon and the Harrison County area. He is a small business owner of two local businesses. He and his wife, Jayme, have four children ranging in age from 21 to 7 years of age and have two dogs, a Yorkie and a German Shepherd. An avid traveler, Chris has visited all seven continents and climbed the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in Africa.
